Donal Brendson >> Notes >> Using Donal

1625 - Sea Season - Disorder Week

Donal was always built large. He took the role of Storm Bull in children’s games, and it stuck. He got initiated to Urox rather than Orlanth when he came of age, but his focus has been leading his life rather than advancing in the cult (note lack of cult lore, poor sense chaos, lack of battle skill - homeboy is a homeboy, rather than looking for trouble). While not at all part of the clan ring, his charisma, size and undoubted ability to do violence makes him a leader of his small community. He pretends to be dumber than he is. He makes his living as a farmer, supplemented by acting as the local warrior trainer (he’s pretty good at keeping his shield between him and trouble, but his work with a long knife is all height and strength and some pretty agricultural technique … ‘Twist your body left to block, then just use that to just swear stab them where their armor isnt’). Donal is likely to come into contact with Our Heroes as either the person who has contacted them looking for help with a local Chaos problem (despite what stories tell you, Storm Bull initiates need to investigate reports of chaos and get help, not get killed trying to solo it), or as local muscle for one of Our Heroes problems. Donal is also unmarried, and tends to have an answer of ‘Yeah, and ?’ if accused of having a good time with any of the local unmarried girls. This has not yet caused serious trouble. While homeboy is a homeboy, he’s unconcerned with wealth. He will absolutely put his hand up if his community needs help, and he includes any healers as part of his community (he remembers how Chalana Arroy nursed Storm Bull back to health). In combat, he casts Demoralise on the most dangerous looking enemy, and then gets into it, keeping his shield between him and trouble while trying to put his long knife deep into the problem.
